Welcome to Computering! Home to all websites that be computering. (lit. "computer webring" but also "to computer")
This webring is a little club for websites and webmasters that are interested in, discuss, or otherwise style their pages after older computers and operating systems.
According to everyone's favorite academic source;
A webring (or web ring) is a collection of websites linked together in a circular structure, usually organized around a specific theme, and often educational or social. They were popular in the 1990s and early 2000s, particularly among amateur websites.
Q: Why is there no "official" CSS for the widget like other webrings have?
A: Because one of the main themes to this webring is sites that imitate specific OSes. It'd look very out of place if, say, I made the widget Windows 98 themed and someone with a MacOS themed site had to include it. Folks are encouraged to present the widget however they like and in whichever way suits their site best.

The rules to join computering are pretty liberal compared to others. I'd like it for everyone who is interested to be able to join regardless of their web host preference or other things like that. That being said...
